Case study: Better projects through professional project management
1. Description of the initial situation
The company specializes in the manufacturing and supplying of centrifuges, which are used for the separation of liquids. The company is one of the leaders on the market. The requests from customers are always in special fields of application, so that no project is the same as the other. However, the company's commitment to its customer is to garantee a fast, high-quality and punctual service. The goal: perfecting project mangement in a high-demand, high-pressure environment.
2. Goals and objectives
The goal was to ensure that all employees have the same level of knowledge of an agile, high-quality and hands-on project management approach. The participants come from different departments, pursue different objectives, but all contribute to the success of current and future projects. Particularly the scientific foundation with at the same time highest practical relevance and an immediate practicability of the measures were in the special focus of the measure.
3. Format of the course (on-site)
In order to enable direct interaction in a confidential setting, it was decided to conduct training on site. A large conference room, fully equipped with all seminar materials, was provided at the company headquarters. The setting ensured it was possible to react flexible and quickly to all possible circumstances. Due to the number of different departments, each course consisted of 20 people. To ensure that the two-day workshop was smoothly implemented, all participating employees were given time off.
4. Results and future outlooks
The entire course of action was evaluated by the Kitzmann Institute. The measure was also closely monitored by HR and the departments involved. A further evaluation was carried out by the participants. The overall result indicated a complete success. The interactive implementation, the high practical relevance, the (international) experience of the trainer and the cross-departmental work during the measure were particularly appreciated. Further trainings are planned for the future.
