From Stage Fright to Pro: How I Transformed My Rhetoric with this seminar
Markus is 34 years old and works as a project coordinator in an IT company. For a long time, he struggled with stage fright before presentations. In this interview, he explains how a seminar helped him overcome this fear and appear confident.
Fear of Speaking
Interviewer: Markus, you work as a project coordinator in an IT company. How did you feel before presentations?
Markus: Although I was technically very skilled, I often struggled with stage fright during presentations and meetings. As soon as I had to speak in front of several people, I froze internally and came across as insecure – even though I knew exactly what I wanted to say. That frustrated me because I wanted to appear more confident and persuasive in my job.
Practice Instead of Theory
Interviewer: That must have been very stressful. What motivated you to attend a seminar?
Markus: After a feedback conversation with my supervisor, I realized that I needed to work on my presentation technique. I looked for a seminar that would really help me.
Interviewer: And what convinced you about the Management Institute Dr. A. Kitzmann?
Markus: Above all, that it wasn’t just dry theory, but focused on practical exercises and individual feedback. I wanted to learn how to overcome my insecurity and find my own communication style.
Learning by Doing and Honest Feedback
Interviewer: What was your experience in the seminar like? What helped you the most?
Markus: In the two-day in-person seminar, we got right to work: we had to present spontaneously several times and received valuable feedback – both from the trainer and from the other participants. The video analysis was especially helpful: it felt strange at first to watch myself, but it helped me see how I really come across when presenting. I learned how voice, body language, and clear structure go together, and how to handle stage fright better.
The Change in Everyday Work: More Confidence and Clarity
Interviewer: And how has your workday changed after the seminar?
Markus: Since the seminar, I feel much more confident during presentations and meetings. I’ve learned to organize my thoughts better and to stay calm and focused even in stressful moments. My boss even told me that I now appear much more convincing. For me, the seminar was a real turning point – I trust myself more now and others perceive me more positively too.
An Investment in Myself
Interviewer: What is your personal conclusion after the seminar?
Markus: I never would have thought that so much could change in just two days. The seminar not only helped me improve my rhetoric, but also strengthened my self-confidence. For me, it was a great mix of challenge, support, and practical relevance. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to appear more confident – whether in front of a small team or a large audience.
