Initial situation:
A leading automotive supplier from southern Germany, which specializes in the development of mechatronic systems for the automotive industry, was facing a critical phase. In order to remain competitive, the company needed to increasingly convert its working methods to agile structures. This transformation was primarily initiated in the development and production areas, where faster decision-making processes and a flexible approach were needed to drive innovation. However, many managers felt overwhelmed as they had had little contact with agile methods and were faced with the challenge of change management.
Solution:
In close cooperation with the company management, we developed a comprehensive series of seminars on the topics of change management and agile leadership. The seminars were offered in several modules, enabling managers to gradually familiarize themselves with the new requirements. In addition to teaching agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban, we placed particular emphasis on providing managers with tools that they could use to support and moderate change processes in their team. Individual coaching sessions supplemented the seminars in order to better address individual challenges.
Results and successes:
The managers reported a significantly higher acceptance of change in their teams. Understanding of agile working methods increased and managers were able to take on their role in this change process more confidently.
